I heard that the gentleman in question collapsed before he could get on a plane to Minneapolis, who's to say he didn't expose anyone who DID get on that plane.
but yeah, I thought the same thing when I heard it on the radio.

I wouldn't be so concerned about Ebola spreading into the more civilized regions. In Africa, it spreads due to the lack of basic hygiene precautions, something that shouldn't happen in Europe / US.

If Ebola kills 10x the people it's already killed this year, it'll be ~0.77% the number of people that die from TB annually.
Not 77%. 0.77%
(deaths this year: slightly less than 1000. Annual deaths from TB: 1.3 million.)
On the one hand Ebola is a very unpleasant and fast death, on the other, TB can take decades to kill you and if you think spending the last two to four months of your life suffocating because your body can't get enough oxygen is pleasant, well, it's not. I've seen it. Or in severe organ failure.
Ebola is one of those diseases that aside from say, a blood transfusion, you can't get until the person is showing symptoms. It doesn't get 'carried' by people.
I'm not saying to ignore it and it'll go away but it's far from the crisis some are making it out to be.
