It's not excatly the kind of "freezing" virus which you may think of, it is actually a pithovirus, recently found 30,000 years old virus (well, obiviously). I will put the wikilink below if you thirst for more information. Also, looking forward to 1.8 mutation on android

Oh this one! Yeah i heard about it. But still, i think a virus with symptoms which interfer with the human body temperature would be interesting, especially in Greenland and Central Africa.
I'm curious how this idea would turn out if James or one of the others would think about it.

Hypothermia and hyperthermia (acute depression and elevation of body temperature respectively) might be symptoms for future scenarios/plague types. Cool idea though.

Highly agree with this one. But isn't the hyperthermia like fever(which is already in the game, obiviously) or is it like higher non-fever caused body temp. eleveation?

No....but yes. If you unlock a certain gene you win via infecting the world not destroying it (frozen virus devolves people back to Neanderthals) restarting the Stone Age...BUT it's not a parasite, no abilities to reduce severity...
