re: mutation triggers -- you can already do that with the events lab. You can control the time until next mutation, and/or you can make mutations happen on demand -- so you could easily create a progression of events that (for example) gradually decreases the mutation speed over time.
The only things that are template-specific are: active abilities (zombies, apes, trojan planes), progressive lethality (from bio-weapon) and cure overload flags (from nano-virus). Everything else applies to every pathogen. The difference between (say) bacteria and virus is nothing but a change in starting stats and default abilities. |
