Suggestion for Multiplayer
I've been trying to think of ways of how the multiplayer component could work that would be fun for both sides and I think I have a couple of suggestions that might work.

1. For the human side, how about having money as their resource. Make the human players part of a 'world organization', like WHO, with finite monetary resources which they can allocate to different parts of the world where they think the virus might be hitting.

2. Make a minigame wherein the human player has to match DNA samples of various plagues and such to samples submitted by doctors from around the world. Could also just automate this, but by making it a game, it would increase player participation as well as give a sense of accomplishment if they are able to identify it early. Perhaps make it to where more money allocated to the country would give less 'false' submissions.

3. Give the human players control over being able to restrict travel and such, but give them severe penalties for doing so, such as lowered income for the cure, increased chance of social unrest, etc., so that they won't do so until they have to.

4. Add a mechanism for the human player wherein they can declare a 'plague' and focus the world on producing a cure, but make it to where the player can make a mistake in identifying the actual plague and have wasted time and effort on a 'false' plague, which lowers overall funding and resources as a whole due to lowered confidence from the world. This would allow players to bring more focus to curing the plague earlier, but give them a penalty for calling it too soon if they haven't actually fully identified the plague.

I enjoy the game immensely and am looking forward to seeing what the multiplayer aspect will be like. These are just suggestions and hopefully they engender some ideas. Thanks!

What about a multiplayer mode where like 6-8 players are their own plague, these plagues are distributed in random countries and the objective of the game is to win with the highest score after all of humanity is dead. plagues can be eliminated by being cured thus narrowing the competition.

A good idea...And the plagues should have different colours..if there are multiple plagues in a country,than there are dots of different colours...

Also, what if we had a mode where one person was a plague which has to kill humanity, yet the other person is the cure who has to eliminate the plague. It would be a race between two players where player A must kill off humanity before player B is able to cure the plague.

What I can imagine for multiplayer pvp is: Every player is a virus, but also a cure for the plague from another player. So every player play both ways. Helping humanity to clear the other virus, but infecting them with they own. But death people cannot be resurrect, so, the player who kills more, wins. But in order to clear the other player virus, first need to detect why kind of virus/bacteria/etc is. I can see this multiplayer very fun Smile

Also, from human team: Hope they can do what humans surely will: Use nuclear bombs to wipe out countries full infected, try to go space to "run" from the pandemic, hide underwater, trying to raise as much babies as possible Tongue (also this can give new humans more resistant to diseases) Radioactivty Test - > Human can also mutate to turn more resistant to some effects, or give them some benefit (as long humanity turn to dissapear, the remaining humans turn more resistant as in nature: only the strong survive) Tests to raise a cure could be more aggresive (experiment directly with humans instead of animals) yet they are less countries to acept that, etc.
